About Me
Elise Payan
Hello! My name is Elise and welcome to my website and small cake business!
I am based in San Diego, California (East County specifically).
I am a student at Grossmont College working towards degrees in Culinary with an emphasis in Baking & Pastry. This platform is for me to express my newfound creative talents and to try new techniques. I am hoping to use this experience as practice and to grow in my field. Thank you to everyone for supporting me and I hope you enjoy seeing more of my artwork soon!

My Experience So Far
Growing up I would say I always had a sweet tooth.
Never was I the baker in the family, that was my sister, but who doesn't love the decorating part!
All my life I knew that I wanted to grow up to be an artist. I was always in my room creating things, drawing, and painting. I graduated high school in 2018 and couldn't wait to start becoming an animator like I had always dreamt. I always wanted to work for Pixar or Disney as a kid. I got my first job out of high school at my neighborhood Baskin Robbins while attending community college.
I worked there for a few years and worked on my customer service skills while also handling ice cream and ice cream cakes. Eventually as I kept working there, I became a manager and started learning cake decorating. It wasn't easy at first, but I could feel I quickly got the hang of it and really enjoyed it!

After some time, I decided I wanted to try something new. I still at this point was wanting to be an art major but needed some money to promote my hobbies of course! I applied at a local bakery since I figured I had enough experience with customers and cakes already for my age. I started out taking orders, but then the opportunity of being able to create cakes for their business became a new opportunity for me! I was familiar with some techniques, but I was nervous at first to be taking on more expensive and detailed designs.

Fast forward, I feel I have the gained the confidence and knowledge on how to do lots of fun designs and how to creating lasting memories in my designs! My time here has made me realize that this was something I was meant to do. Now in 2025, my new career goal is to grow as a cake decorator and to learn more about the culinary and event/wedding industry. I still have a deep love for art, but I have been gifted the opportunity on how to turn my passion into something that can be made into a career.
I am currently enrolled in the culinary classes at Grossmont College where I am expanding on my culinary knowledge and cooking experience.

This is just the beginning, but I am grateful for all of the opportunities that have come to me.
Thankful for all of the opportunities that weren't meant for me. Creating cakes for me is something
I love to do, but making others smile is what makes it all worth working towards.
I am excited learn more and showcase my artistic talents!

Thank you for your support and to my friends & family for helping me to grow!
Sorry I take over the kitchen! ;)
with love,
- Elise.
